The Carissa Foundation continues to progress forward with new hopes and expectations for the future. We are grateful to those that see our hearts and support our cause. In June 2013, I was honored to receive the Dorothy Cox Fisher Award for Community Service! My wonderful co-worker Sharon Allen nominated me for this wonderful. Wow!!! And what an honor it was!!!! I received this award through Virtua Health System, and me along with other nominees were taken to a secret location to receive our awards. We were taken to Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA.! It was an amazing night where we could tour the facility, meet the Phanatic, and have a wonderful dinner! I was truly blessed on that night, and God showed me that people do care and want the best for Frank and I and our cause. It was not until last week when the official article came out with the award winners and a blur about why they were chosen for the Virtua Star Award.
Here is the wonderful story written by my co-worker Sharon Allen:
Shareé Morgan is a nurse in the cardiac cath lab at Virtua Marlton. After enduring difficult losses over a two-year period, Shareé turned her personal heartbreak into help for families going through the mourning process after the loss of a child during pregnancy or childbirth. Shareé established the Carissa Foundation, creating a network of support through sharing, prayer and increased understanding and acceptance of loss. Throughout her life, Shareé has shown strength and commitment to reach important goals, such as earning a bachelors of science in nursing while working full time in a challenging position in the cath lab. Shareé has shown strength, and also great compassion, in moving forward beyond her personal tragedy to create a softer landing for others through the Carissa Foundation.
Thank you Sharon, you are a wonderful friend! Love you sissy!!!
