I pray all is well with everyone. I am so very glad today is Friday. It has been an interesting week for me! I’ll just leave it at that. I am just happy this week is finally over.
I have been reflecting on the concept of trust this week. Trust means to believe or have faith in something or someone. It is the reliability and strength of a person, the credibility of their words or actions. You may question if this person is sincere in what they say or do their actions match their words.
I think everyone at one point has struggled with trust, either trust of a person or God. My pastor growing up would say “folks are fickle”. This is absolutely true! Someone can give you their word and then do just the opposite. It states in James 1:8, a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. But not all fall into this category of, can I trust you or not. In today’s day and age to find someone trustworthy is a rare gem. Hold onto these individuals they are extremely special and a gift from God.
Isn’t it amazing that we never have to questions God’s faithfulness to us? We can lean on him in the good times and in the bad times. We can trust in our loving Heavenly Father. Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG) comes to mind. I love how the Message translation presents this scripture:
Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
The ability to trust in God with our whole being is taking a leap of faith and putting our faith into action. We will not be disappointed going with God. He will direct each of our steps if we just give him our whole heart. Who do you put your trust in?
