iHello Fall! We are finally starting to get some fall weather. I finally had to put on my fleece this week, but I still am not ready to put away the flip-flops! I hope all is well with everyone, and God is blessing you with health and strength.
Last night my son and I had a great conversation. He brought up the topic of purpose. He asked me, “Mom do you know what my purpose is? Do you know what your purpose is?” (What deep topic of conversation for a 9-year-old!). I am so glad I was confidently able to answer him.
My response was purpose is what God has called you to do for him. It is your mission in life. He then asked if I knew what his purpose was. I explained he is still young, and his ultimate purpose will be revealed in time. But I can see God working in his life at a young age to be sensitive and caring for those that are vulnerable. My son loves nature and God creatures. God has placed a gentle spirit within him. Check out his YouTube page; http://www.zmanthebugwhisperer.com
Then I talked to him about my purpose, and that purpose can only be found in Christ. How often does someone wander around looking for their purpose or destiny in life? Purpose cannot be found in the latest trend, fashion, in a woman or man. It can only be found in our Heavenly Father. I am a nurse by trade; however, I view my nursing profession as a calling from God. I am honored to care for his people. My patients are not just my patients, they are God’s children.
To unravel deeper into my purpose it came from a place brokenness. After my two loses, I never thought I would one day be helping others through their storms in life. Having the ability to empathize is not learned skilled it comes from a place brokenness. It is the ability to feel and see someone’s hurt because you were once there too. Yearning for someone to see your perspective, and lend a hand of compassion.
