Hello all! I had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Caribbean this past week. It was an amazing vacation. I had been planning this trip for a year! To swim in turquoise water and walk along white sand beaches was just what my family and I needed. It was a nice break from having to cook and clean. It was like we were royalty! The resort personnel referred to me as Madame and my son as Master Zachary. Jesus paid the price so we would have life in abundance (John 10:10). Our gifts will make room for us, and He has called us before great men (Proverbs 18:16). Suffering from heartbreak and grief makes us feel just the opposite, leading to feelings of inferiority and shame. Our traumatic past hinders our progress. We become slaves to our past. Almost like our feet are stuck in the mud, but the battle is in our mind.
While boarding the plane to come home, I observed another plane leaving the gate. I observed that a device called a pushback tractor that pushes the plane in reverse. I am not an expert in aerodynamics or plane craft design, but how interesting that planes can only go forward and do not have the ability to go “backwards”. The aircraft is designed to go forward and to get to its destination. I thought of another scripture stating, “press towards the mark of the high calling” (Philippians 3:13-14). Although our trauma and grief keep us from pressing forward, I pray that God would remind us we are royalty and will aid us and support us during our time of sorrow. Keep pressing forward, keep trusting in the Lord, keep your loved one’s memory close in your heart, and keep remembering you are royalty!
